Okay i have a 240sx with an sr20det, i only have basic mods, intake, headers, exhaust, and walboro fuel pump. I wanted to know if i could beat my friends gsx... He's mods are an evo throttle body, and a k&N filter.... and thats about it.. I know the gsx is gonna get me off the line but what about the quarter mile.. oh and his best time was a 15.1... I have no clue what SRed 240s run on the quarter mile. I have never done it before, and this is gonna be my first race.. (only had my car for a few weeks)

Ok, well a stock SR 240 would beat a 15.1 with a competent driver.

By the way, how is that you have a header on your SR? DO you mean an aftermarket turbo manifold?

Why in da hell is a GXS running 15.1 in the quarter? Those things stock usually run 13.3! Did he tell you his best run was a 15.1? If he did,he's bluffing and will wax you. If you seen the 15.1 with your own eyes, there is definetely somethign wrong with his car.

Edit: And what do you mean he's got an Evo throttle body? Its the same motor,4G63T

13.3? WHERE THE ****? Weel, consdering a GS-T runs a 15.7 STOCK, I would give a GSX a 15.3-15.1

the gs-t stock has 5 MORE hp ... but its pushing 5more psi of boost then the stock sr. and heavier. both dohc 16valve with the ****ty T25.

not sure but i have heard stock sr runs low 15s or high 14s.

if the 240 only run that fast .. just because the gs-x is AWD doesnt mean it can go 1.5sec faster in the 1/4 than the 240

Stock GSX's do not run 13.3 1/4miles. If you saw one, it wasn't stock. I have one sitting in my garage pushing 15psi(it's my buddy's car) and it only runs 13.8.

And for future knowledge, The 4G63 in the Eclipse is NOT the same 4G63 thats in the EVO. That's why the EVO makes so much more power than the Eclipse ever did from the factory. Different everything right down to the turbo. Take a look at the engine bays of the two cars. The Evo's Engine is on the left side, the eclipse's engine is on the right.

DSM's 4G63s is a lot different than the JDM 4G63s. Different cams setups (camshalf's lift and duration are different), different piston/crank and different gear ratio, just to name a few. :)

I think it'd be fun to see SR vs DSM, stock vs stock. I think it'd be pretty close. GSX's are heavy.. S13's are not. :)

GSX's are heavy as hell for thier size. I was talking to a guy at autocross who got rid of his for a Supra since it was only slighly heavier but with sooo much more power potentail. See my signature, granted I raced a first gen with probably high miles but I only run a 15.6et and beat him by a car or more.

stock vs. stock SR will walk on DSM's 4g63, and even then it is still a close race SR should run high 14 stock, and DSM should run low 15 stock, and i do mean "should" because that is with professional test drivers, with us on da street or even at the track, it'll even be closer, so take the advise of getting to know ur car, then u'll win, learn to launch, cuz DSM shouldn't be able to jump on u off the line if it doesn't have about 50 more HP then u, the reason u'll lose off the line is if u launch too hard and dont get traction quick enough, finally, dont drag against him, take it out on da streets and highways, and watch ur friend sweat while he tries to keep up with u, that's what the silvia is made for not drag racing
