Well I've searched the forums a little and haven't really come up with a definitive answer for my questions...so here's the list, please don't flame =P

1. What are the diffs between the 200 and 240?

2. Is there a big diff between the sr swap in these two cars?

I know that the sr is pretty much oem for a 240, and I've also read that the chassis of these cars are pretty similar, but haven't found anything specifically saying so....just curious, cuz I'm trying to find the most economical way to start this swap....thanks guys.

Well I guess I'll state the obvious difference, one is front wheel drive and one is rear wheel drive. I heard that 200sx's are lighter but offer no proof to back that up. One thing for certain though... drifting is too much fun, and 240sx's own there.

The 200SX is bout 1200kg (don´t ask me how much that is)It´s RWD too and the SR swap should be the same as with the 240.

Ok. I own a 200sx and am looking into an S14. The main difference already stated is FWD vs RWD. As far as the swap goes a 200sx SE-R comes with a SR20DE stock so im guessing the SR20DET should fit right in the 200sx, i may be wrong but i think the SR20DE and the SR20DET is the same motor one is just N/A and the other is turbo. My friend out here in Vegas has the swap in his 200SX so ill ask him about it. As far as weight the 200SX weigh 2400lbs as opposed to the 240SX which weighs anywhere from 2500-2900lbs depending on the model. I say the 240SX is alot funner, sleaker, and overall just better performance but the 200SX does have weight on its side. My 2cents

hold upAFAIK the S13 SR will not simply drop into a 200sx. Motor mounts will clearly be different, the oil pans are different, and so i dobut the FWD transmission will bolt up.. Maybe you could bolt the FWD oilpan on the S13 block.. Wires will be different, PS and AC lines may or may not work..

Why not just buildandturbo the 200sx?

Oh, I think he means the S12. Apparently that swap has been done. I was thinking of doing one, asked Yury at heavythrottle about it, and he said they had been done and were quite fast since they are so freakin' light.

I have a S12 200SX 5 speed, and I drove a S13 240SX auto, I like my car better. Maybe it's the turbo engine, but my 120hp feels more powerful than the 140hp in the 240SX. But the 240SX have more aftermarket parts from what I can find.

Does anyone know where I can find some S12 200SX spring and shocks? ;)
