Hello I'm look into buying a 240 vert, it needs flca replaced and craddle, but he.said he will give me it all when I buy the car, has some rust, but not to worried because my friend knows how to cut and welded decently good. Top doesn't go up ajd down on its on, because Ye couldn't get it wired right during the 5 speed swap. I love verts think they're beautiful, just looking for some advice on if it soubds like junk from anyone that knows anyrhig about the verts. I've owned 2 240s before so any input would be nice.

Check out the, 240sx convertible buyer's guide for a general overview of what you want to look for. Doesn't really sound like a great car from what you said, but how much are you paying for it? Is the top/backwindow in good shape?

It seems in alright condition, and my 240 coupe pretty much stock single cam, only welded diff and springs and struts, but it has no title so im tryting to get a car with a title and i love verts, but the wiring problem would take a simple 10 minutes.

Yea the wiring issue shouldn't take you too long to fix. The only thing I'd be worried about is rust and the top condition. Frame rot is what drives up repair costs of 240s and top condition drives up repair costs for verts. If you're getting it for a straight trade though, I think you'll come out ahead depending how bad the rust is (top can usually wait to get fixed, rust is bad mmmkay)

Also, Welcome to NICO and the vert forum! when you get your vert, be sure to add it to our convertible registry.

There is no frame rust and minimal rust on the rest of the car, ill have to see how the top is in person and I defiantly will if I get it!

The top is also in good condition, but the rear window has slight rips.

Depending on your area, the back window can be kind of pricey to replace. The shop I went to was going to charge me $600 to change the back window or $1200 to replace everything. However, there are members here that have gotten their windows changed for like $200. So it just really depends on your area.

I drove around like this for about 5 months before I could get it fixed (no cinderblocks on the road obviously)

Been looking out of state? I bought mine from Texas and had it shipped to Georgia, all for less then $2000. Sure it needed a new water pump and head gasket, but I love motor work, so no big big.

Found mine via AutoTrader online. Forget the shipping company, but they were pretty good.

Around how much did it cost you with the car and shipping?

I spent less then $1500 on the car and shipping. I was lucky enough to load up AutoTrader the day the guy listed the car, called him and was able to work out a deal. I sent a cashier's check the next day. I arranged all the shipping, which was as easy as filling out an online form. Little more then a week later, the car was in my driveway.

I'm defiantly going to look into that. The vert I was recently talking about with leash has rust above the windshield which I heard is almost impossible to replace because of a part you'd need to replace.
