Are you sure of the condition of the alternator ? If the alternator is charging and you aren't leaving an electrical component on then the only thing left is there is a parasitic battery draw draining the battery. I'm a GM tech so I don't have any suggestions on what may be causing the draw. All you need to test for a draw is a digital multimeter capable of reading amperage and some type of battery disconnect.

i been told it could be a short but i dont know where to start with that. i also been told i could get a cut off switch for my battery, but that would only help for a bit. would that help to get me by till i can fix the real problem? its really my only means of transportation.

I would say you could just pull the connections off your battery every night, until you find out whats wrong. just an idea.

lol, sounds like you have the same problem i had. go check the wire that is running from the alternator to the fuse box. it requires a 14mm wrench or deep socket to tighten. If the fuse box wire is not loose, then go to the alternator, and make sure that the black (ground) wire did not break or have corrision(white powder) all over it. Make sure the power cable is and the black wires are both tightened. Hope that helps.

I would start with Scoutz idea but how are you sure your altenator is good? Have you tested it? I have seen them start to go bad and just not put out the proper volts and slowly kill the battery. If it's dying overnight it sounds like the battery is drawing from a ground. Unless something stupid is going on like your interior lights staying on etc. I assume you would notice that however. Something I have noticed with my 240 is the battery terminal connectors are messed up and if they go loose the battery acts like it's dead but you can go wiggle the wires and it will regain power. I have just been to busy to put new ones on it. So I would check them while your at it as well.

Take the Alt. off and go to your local auto store and have them test it.

you can use a drop of Super Glue to hold the clip in the alt.

also if you battery is no good it will make the alt. work Overtime and eventualy cause it to burn out.

then you not only will need a battery but and alt. aswell. GL
