Ok well I looked everywhere but I can't find my answer, but I did a transmission swap to my 240sx vert and i was wondering if the top will still function with a manual ecu, or if the auto ecu makes it work, I am just wondering because my check engine light is annoying me and I have emissions soon.... Thank you

The ATCU completes the top circuit, not the ECU. However, there's a wire than can be jumped on the back of the top up/down switch that will bypass the ecu.

If you're CEL is on, I would suggest pulling codes to see what the problem is

Feels good to get an answer from you but I am still pretty lost, I don't really know the electrical systems very well. I though my engine light was on because of the swap, and thats the only reason I wasnted to change the ecu in the first place because i thought that is what turned it off..

if you have a check engine ligh its not from the sawp only s14's give you a CEL when you change fron auto to 5spd. Like said above get a FSM and check the codes

I'll save you a bit of trouble for looking

http://www.240sx.org/faq/artic...h.htm

That's an article to set your ecu for pulling codes, how to read them, and decipher which code means what.

The article says it's for 95-98, but all the codes match up to about 105. ODBI ECUs shouldn't pull A/T codes. The opnly code missing off that list is '55', which stands for all clear
