fast and the furious got me into imports a year before i got my license. i love camaros and hate insurance. ultimately decide i had to have rear wheel drvie. why build a car with a lot of power if it had no traction. found out about the 240 researched more and more. found an add for a 95 SE for $4500 bought it the next day even though it was auto. hard as hell to find around here. now planning to buy another S14 5spd but stay away from body kits and go SR

Mine started as a quick replacement to my blown up bonneville cause it was free. I had always driven detroit steel up untill now. Now that I have driven the 240, im hooked. I found this board about 2 months after i bought it and have learned as much as possible. The motor blew up 2 months ago and has now been replaced. Funny thing is - on any of my other previous cars, i would never have put in the blood, sweat, tears to replace the motor, but with my 240 i didnt even think twice- the second it threw the rod, i said to myself "better start looking for a new motor". Hell, i got rid of my bonneville because the transmission was bad, could have replaced that easily.

i got mine 2 christmas' ago...my first was a 240 coupe black R.I.P full veilside body kit exhaust and i was saving up for the sr then she was hit and totaled everything was a lost...gathered my balls then found one in ac, purchased it exhaust injen intake and this one is a stick unlike the last...grey though she's getting painted (hmmm...what color black or metalic silver) though of going sr but a majority of the sx owners have it allready so i decided to get a ca18 that is until i was out bided on ebay (DAMN last min. biders) so i decided to go against the grain and replaced my stock engine for another one with 55k on it and go for a supercharger....

you wont believe mine.

i was searching for my first car. my friend at work had one and said i should get one because its badass ( he explained alot of it to me). so one day when i get home from school, my parents are on the phone talking to insurance companies about how much it would cost for me with a 92 nissan 240sx. as soon as they got of the phone, they told me that they had seen it that day and new that i would want it. so then my dad and i go check it out, test drive it, and tell the dealership (it was a trade in) that i would give them $2500 cash for it.the guy goes inside, then comes back out a few minutes later and says $2600 and its yours. i think for about 2 seconds and say yea. got insurance the next morning and went to pick it up.

that was the story for my first 240. i noticed that a couple of my friends liked my car and decided they wanted one too. after a year and a half i decide i want to put mine up for sale and get a newer one that is 5spd. one of my friends was looking for his first car and buys it off me for $2600!!! one of the other friends that purchased one because she liked mine went to the air force and put it up for sale. i stopped looking for a s14 and bought her 92 240sx se (way better condition than mine) .

that is the car i currently have now.

skydragoness5, posts like that are basically like you running up to me and kicking me in the shin and running off. Its just pointless to post about not wanting to post. does anybody else see the irony?

anyway....keep the storys coming...

I always thought imports were like weak and stupid, one time I needed a ride so my friends brother took me to work in his 98 integra gsr all hooked up this thing sung I couldn't believe it thats when I started to have more and more interest in them and did some research and finally over a year later decided a 240sx looked promising and great potential.

i would sumtimes see a 240 around, and i always loved them, but never new what they were. i thought they were some kind of mazda. well i went car shopping the day before sophomore year in high school, and saw one of these "cool looking cars" at a dealership. we stopped, looked at it, drove it, and i fell in love with it. it was amazing. so, i bought it and have been completely infatuated with it ever since.

My Sentra had 170k and was in its 5th accident. So I was looking for a new car, my options were pretty open 94 up integra, 95 up 200sx SE-R, 240sx. Looked at many cars. Mainly came across it through non-stop searching.

Dealership was asking 7800, got them to 6 flat, which was about 5600 for the car itself and 400 for all the stupid charges they got. We only had to "walk out" of the dealership once for them to drop it to 6. Needless to say I was ecstatic. I looked at over 8 95-up 240s, all automatic, or a mess.

My first car was a 89 Se-i Accord coupe. I loved the damn thing, until I had to replace two trannys "not my fault, kinda, lol" a master cylinder, cluctch, flywheel, two calipers, two sets of lowering springs, couple struts, exhaust, thermostat, timing belt, two sets of tires, and a bunch of other stuff. I was looking for a last gen. prelude or a 240, got lucky enough to find 1 s14 even remotely close.

I got mine a month ago, I had been in the market for a newer car for 6 months, and I had test drove every thing from a 86 supra to a 99 civic, 95 3000gt vr4, a stealth, a neon, integra, a few trans ams, some stangs you name it I had probably drove it, but I went to a dealership one day to look a a 95 VW Golf GTI that was all show and no go, had the kit, all kinds of ****, but it was a weak motor with 270xxx on it. they wanted to much, so i just took a look around the lot and came accross the 240, it was siting in the back having it's self detailed, and oil change and ****, and decide when they were done i would try it, after a test drive and finding that it was rwd, I fell in love, 3500 later, a 1990 240sx XE Coupe with 74,000mi was in the drive way, and I will never drive another car, I am 240's for life.

I had never payed much attention to 240s, until I saw chris may's 240. I'ld always thought they looked okay, but didn't know anything about their platform. So I went looking on the internet for some pictures of 240s and just to find out more about them. When I came across http://www.driftworks.org after seeing that I absolutely fell in love with the 240. I thought it was so cool how those guys could make their cars just slide around like that with their hands out the window. I became obsessed with the "drift". Anyway, so I told my friend's dad to let me know he if got any fixable 240s into his junkyard. Well the second day of summer he found a perfect red one for me, and he said he would supply with everything I needed to fix it. So I bought the car from him for 800 bucks. It was a complete mess, cracked windshield, front bumper that was all fuged up, rims that looked like they belonged on a camaro, and one horrible interior(I found pees underneath the backseat). So I spent last summer, fixing it up. I got a new interior($100), newer KA($600), windshield($175), and bodywork and paint($1250). Everything I know about cars, basically comes from working on my 240. I try to do all the work myself on my car, with help from my dad. The only things I have had other people do are install the windshield and the bodywork and paint. For me the coolest part was that the day it came back from the paintshop was my 17th birthday. So I spent the day just enjoying my car .:D

I moved to New Jersey from Ohio in August. The bombed out roads and high insurance forced me to sell my 95 M3, for fear of having it stolen, wrecked or just plain broke. Sent a car broker out looking for an S14 SE 5 speed and after a couple of months found my car. It's a lot more fun (read: cheap) to work on, nearly as fun to drive, and -for a third of the cost- has Bimmer Killer potential. Never going back. Cars are meant to be driven, not pampered.

My dad used to have a 280 Turbo Z so he is really into Nissan. My friend and fellow mechanic found the 240 and my dad fell in love. A 1991 Nissan 240 SX Hatchback for $2000. Good condition. I really didn't think it was all that hot. But anyways I hydroplained and hit a concrete wall. I decided to but a shell and put everything on my car inside of the shell. This is when I really started to love my car. After I was done rebuilding it (my friend did the engine and transmission) I really got serious. So now im here today. After it was all and done with we spent about $4000.

Hell yeah the roads by you suck...well they stink by me too. Pulaski Skyway is nice to rip the car however. Hoboken and Jersey City just stink to drive around.

A friend of mine had a '96 champagne 5-speed 240sx. I was at a point where I was getting a bit tired of my Probe GT...I'd had it for 2 years, it was an automatic, basically I just wanted something a little different and definitely a manual.

I drove my friend's 240 a few times and really enjoyed it. It handled great, looked good, and I'd liked both S13 and S14 240s ever since I'd first gotten into cars.

He offered to sell it to me one day, I thought about it a little bit, and decided to go for it. I put my PGT up for sale and as soon as it sold, I went to get the 240. :)

Funny how things work out sometimes, though. I now miss my PGT terribly and am actually considering selling the S14 once it's paid off and picking up another Probe. If mine were a 5-speed I wouldn't have sold it in the first place. Besides the fact I don't really like that my '96 has 123k miles on it.

But that's my story, and I'm happy. :)

one of my friends needed a car and wanted to get a ford aspire (WTF?) but "settled" for a '90 auto 240 cause someone in our same apartment building was selling it. she let me drive it a couple times and i fell in love with it (and it was auto even). i was into cars enough to know i liked the FR layout and knew it would be perfect if it was manual. so i spent the next coulple years wishing for one. then one day i missed a flight (goshdang security lines) and i got rear ended while driving around town. used the insurance money to pick up my 240! dream come true. what if i hadn't missed my flight? i don't even wanna think about that!
