For the money you'll be spending on a stock RB25 swap, you can have a SR or KA-T with more power output than the stock RB25. As long as you get a good ecu tune for your motor, it'll be just as reliable as stock and probably have better gas mileage than the RB25. I spent $4400 on my SR swap and was able to put out 270 whp. If having a RB is really important to you, then yes, I'd say it's worth the money. But I if you're just looking at the 220 to 250 whp, the SR and KA-T's are better bangs for the buck.teamelude wrote:The key is I want a pretty much stock engine with power thats why I am thinking of choosing the 25. Yes I know I will be needing brakes and a suspension set up but I dont plan to be driving crazily at the beginning because I want to learn how to react to the heavy nose.

so what exactly did u end up doing??? sr20 or rb?teamelude wrote:Thanks yeah I think the RB25 might be too far out of reach right now I think I might go SR sorry for changing my mind so many times I was just thinking about how I heard that the SR20 gives the car good balance seeing that it is lighter also I don't plan on messing with the engine and knowing that the aftermarket is huge on those motors I think that is what finally got me to make my mind. Thanks appreciate it.
what mounts did you use and how good are they. I was going to go with McKinney but 250 sounds better than 450Romeo_rus wrote:I'm doing rb25det swap into my s14 right now... I've spent so farmounts 250mount bushings 80fmic 105swap 2000harness 358driveshaft 305
and it looks cheaper than SR20det (on ebay) 3200+ swap
