well seeing as i have a hicas 240 i think my opinion would be very helpful. some people buy a 240 to drift in, which personally i think is a fad. alot of people think that the hicas system makes this hard or impossible, very untrue. but more to the point the hicas aws is enjoyable even though it's not noticeable, the ecu controls the very slight turning of the rear wheels via input from the position of the front wheels, the speed of the vehicle, and i believe the current gear. on top of that all hicas equipped models are also equipped with a viscous limited slip differential and have a differant final drive ratio. also the steering ratio is tighter alowing quicker turning. i don't know the actual weight difference but if it does weigh more then so what, all the goodies you'll get is worth more than having a few extra pounds that you can easily shed elsewhere. as for repairs i'm not sure about the cost but i have yet to hear about anyone having to repair it, if it does malfunction and its too expensive then there are hicas removal kits that can be bought to eliminate the rear steering. all in all my opinion is that you should go for the hicas model, i'm happy with it, and i'm sure you will be too. if you have any other questions then i'll try my best to help you out
