Hello, my beautiful 1995 champaign gold 240sx won't start!

I just got the car this summer, and have done a ton of work on it myself; however, I'm not sure as how to replace a starter. It's an AT btw.

The battery is brand new, and the car just "clicks" when I turn the ignition.

I have the factory service manual, and it says to lower the automatic transmission in order to take out a starter. Is this true?

Finally, is there anyone here who might be selling a 1995 240sx AT starter?

Thanks everyone, I am new to these cars so take pity please.

No you odn't have to lower the transmission. What you want to do is take off the lower bolt, then get a long long long extension, say maybe 4-5 12 inch extensions to get to the top bolt. That way you don't have to drop the transmission. Jack it up on the passenger side pretty high and you'll have plenty of clearance to get at it. You can get it rebuild for 40 dollars at your local Napa or mechanic shop. You can probably buy a new one from Napa or Autozone.

I'm not sure if mine will work, but I have a starter from a MT '92 (same engine as your '95)

I'd be willing to sell it for $40+shipping from 92624.

Let me know if this will work, and if you want it.
