Hey Guys,

I have to replace my 1991 240sx SE Automatic Starter.Which brand is better? Denso or Bosche? Does anyone know which reman starter brand I would get from the dealer? The dealer closest to me will only tell me that the starter they have is Nissanand they want $200-220 +$60 core.I called another dealer from a different state and they told me they thought is was probably Denso.

Which one is more reliable? And which online seller is the most reliable?oem.overnightautoparts.com, http://www.autopartsauthority.cometc......

Thanks everyone,DK

I bought a lifetime warranty one from autozone. The starter is not that bad to remove so even if it doesn't last that long I can always take it back and replace it.

Thanks slydin'240,

I'll look Autozone up.So far I haven't been able to get my starter out.I can't reach that top bolt, from under the car or over.I just went out and bought a UV Socket adapter and about18" length of extensions.

Hopefully, I'll be able to reach it.

Did you have the same problems?

Cheers,DK

You need a wrench to get at that one from the top. It's a tight squezze but you'll get it.

Welcome to NICO anyway!!!!

DensoProducts.com has your starter for under $200-core included. It may take them 2 business days to ship it though because they drop-ship straight from the manufacturer half the time.

^ Much better deal, especially since it's top-quality (and coming from a company that supports NICO!)

Lifetime warranty loses its appeal real quick when you're replacing the part for the 3rd time in a year. Happened to a buddy of mine, and I've heard similar stories. Stay away from the Pro-Start brand.

Thanks guys.I think i'll go with the denso.Since there is no core charge, I may open up my other starter andsee what the guts look like.

Cheers,DK
