At 6000rpm my friends 240 will sputter then a big cloud of black smoke will come out.Only does it under load sitting still in neutral it is fine.Has doen it in 3rd and 4th gear.Any ideas? fuel filter gone bad?Only upgrade is exhaust.

a tune up wouldnt hurt. its runign rich at those RPM. a little rich is normal, that rich isnt.

He just now said it was blue smoke.Oil being burnt but no oil on the plugs.Maybe carbon build up in throttle body?

I went in road with him and did like 10pulls.No problems occurred....lol
