1991 240sx with 175,xxx kade.

the car runs really fantastic. have 170 compression on all 4 cylinders. only problem is, is that the car smokes when i accelerate from a stop. and then goes away. i dont think its coolant even though the smoke is white. it smells more gaseous than sweet, but everyonce in awhile it smells like....burnt oil? maybe? not sure the smell. but burnt oil has a blueish tint this is just straight white. I did remove my catalytic converter, so maybe its condensation building up in the catalytic converter casing? (i just gutted the cat) and the reason it smells gaseous cus its not burning the extra since there is no more cat? i checked my coolant there is no oil in it and it doesnt bubble. i changed my oil there was no coolant in it. just a nice brown....so any ideas? i do have a full 3inch catback exhaust. and its not baffeled. i know that having to big exhaust can burn up the valve seals(i think i heard that or something with the valves). maybe thats lettin oil in? any ways ne ideas or if u need me to clarify anything else let me know

TIA

Sounds like your valve guide seals maybe going. Keep an eye on your oil. After a month is your oil lower? The only other thing I could think is PCV system. And the way I understand the "exhaust is too big" thing is that no backpressure allows the exhaust to flow too freely, not giving that split second to cool down before flowing past the exhaust valve. idk good luck

well i guess i sould of included that.... my oil likes to sit lower. it wont stay at the high line or ne thing it will always go down to just about the low line and just sit there.

and now that i think of it.... someone showed me a trick with the PCV system.... u take off the tube and plug the hole with ur thumb and rev the engine and if there is no smoke than u can somewhat assume its not that... and i did that and it didnt smoke at all. he also showed me that u take off ur oil cap while the car is running and stick a piece of paper over it and its supposed to flutter. if it gets sucked in the u have bad seals. i tried that and it just flutter so i figure its not my rings persay. i did haev slight blowby but not very significant.
