I might be getting a 1995 240sx se thats wrecked and wanted to know if all the se's came with the lsd? i imagine that it came with 5 lugs too if im thinking correctly. this is an automatic if that makes a diff.

the vin is JN1RZ24D6RX545519 if that helps.

thanksZak

I don't know what in the VIN, if anything, can tell you. I can tell you it was an option. I've heard mixed information that ABS and LSD were seperate packages on non-SE 95s, and that it was a group package on SEs. I've heard the opposite is true as well.. so who knows for sure. I hope the opposite is true cause I have a non-SE with ABS :D Anyways, easiest way to check is either look for the infamous orange sticker on the back differential that indicates a VLSD, or just jack up the back and try and spin one of the wheels. If they both turn, you have it.I plan on checking mine.. eventually.. I'm just lazy. And here's one for free - to check for ABs, see if you have 2 lines off your Brake Master Cylinder. 2 lines indicates ABS, while 3 means none. You should also have a "double nippled" thingy in the back left corner of the engine bay if you're in front looking at it. If you only have the single nipple thing (perhaps someone can enlighten me as to what it is?), you don't have ABS.And finally, everyone, feel free to spot check my info.

well see i cant check for the sticker or anything because its at an auction and a guy is gonna bid on it for me. i myself have a 1995 but its not an se. it doesnt have abs or the 5 lug or the lsd. i was wanting to put the 5 lug and lsd on my car. thats why i ask.i dont know now what to do.

This is what I know for sure. * I have a 1995 SE' as well w/out ABS or LSD* the 4th-8th digits on VIN #'s dictate the vehicle options*the 4th-8th #'s on that car is s44d*the 4th-8th on MY car is s44d (exactly the same)

So... I would make a logical guess and say taht since they are teh same and my car came w/ NO LSD or ABS that that wrecked auto probably does not come with them either. Hope this helps, good luck,

Austin

I don't know how accurate that is, as I have a non-SE with ABS and I have the same 4 digits there.

hmmm, thanks for sharing. maybe the LSD option cannot be decoded via the vin and Mr. TicTak has no way of telling :p

Yeah, you may be right. My VIN is almost the exact same, except for the D7S, which is D8S on mine. Mine is also a much, much lower production number.

hmm maybe i should take a chance or maybe not. what would you guys pay for a salvage 240 at an auction. i was thinkin no more than 400.00 bc its an auto and the front end is pretty mangled.

If the interior is in good shape, and if the engine is for the most part together, you can make up a good deal of 400 back from just parting it out. Might be able to break even, even.. redundant. So, pending on the engine's state of being, I'd say it's worth it.

I'm going to go ahead and say that car in the pics is not an se only on the basis of its missing the badging, gauge cluster is black, and looks like 4 lug, not se wheels.

fairly positive those are NOT 5 lug wheels, just the base model 4 lugger. I'm not an expert on the s14 by any means but im almost positive the 5 lug SE's were the all the same 5 point wheels. Someone correct me if im wrong. I'm saying this car = NOT SE!
