240sx SE question
240sx SE question
Hi i found a 1992 240sx fast back that has a spoiler and a moonroof, does that mean that it's the Sports Edition 240sx.?? And do HICAS only exist in the 240sx SE??

Really, theres not all that much of a difference between the base model and SE besides a bit of trim, and access to different options, it does not mean they are actually on the car. If its a SE it will have SE on it. Also, to my knowledge, SE does not mean Sports addition....but I very well could be wrong. They used to use SE and XE to designate fastback, SE, and coupe, XE, then they just changed to base models and SE. In the late S14s theres also a LE. Also, why do you want HICAS? I know a lot of people who have taken the HICAS out, and the only people that seem to want it are the collectors. For most higher end drivers HICAS is a disability as its not easily predictable as a standard system would be.
Wrong. The LE trim was available on '91-'92 US fastbacks and '97-'98 US coupes. In both cases, it was basically the same as the SE, but it also included leather seats.biggie wrote:LE is only a canada thing. SE is the highest in the US. '92 SE probably would also have HUD--mine does.

the SE has many differences from the XE (also known as the base model)
the SE was available with a stiffer "sport" suspension, an optional clutch LSD in the coupe/fastback or in the HICAS equiped fastback a viscous LSD
also, the HUD was only available in coupes from 90-92 (or 93 maybe)
