hey, iam new to this forum and new to the nissan cars. I've just recently bought me a 95 240sx se with 125,000 miles on it. The car is in very good condition as well as the enigine is. well i jus want to know what things i should get for this car with 125k on it. I know it needs a major tune up but can somebody tell me everything i should get for it to make it a more reliable engine. Such as what kkinda belts and etc. Also how much would all the parts round up to. thanks

factory plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter ,air filter, check brakes. check suspension bushings especially the 2 torsion rods bushings up front. change coolant. oil and filter change. clean the throttle body.thats a good starting point.

you should take off the plastic top chain guides if they haven't been taken off already. If there seems to be somn tapping the valve cover then that's the plastic chain guides.

if you do a search about ticking engine there should be alot of threads on it.

well iam uncertain if i want to change the chain yet. I bought th car with 125k and it purrs like a cat. I dont hear any wierd noises. No ticking at all. alot of people say to change ur timing chain at a certain mile cuz they hear a ticking noise from the engine which is ffrom the chain. But i dont hear anything soo do u guys think that i shouold change it still or jus leave it in there untill i hear a ticking noise.

as far as I know timing chains aren't wear items so they should last the whole engine's life span - unless somn is wrong. If there's is no ticking sound, you should be fine. Maybe the last owner removed the top guides already.
