You can also get a install kit that will put the radio in the factory location as well which is a little more secure. That method works but is very easy to yank out.

Anyway with the two mounting metal pieces this will take a few hours to connect old NISSAN cables are a mess there are two blue cables where you dont know what is it...? a detail can burn your stereo or fu*ck your electric system.

1. In my case get the mounting metal will not solve the problem to fill the hole left between stereo and the dashboard. (this will cost extra money) There is no guarantee when buy two side metals that probably will not fit a particular new car stereo.2. In my case wait for shipping and fill the hole will take one week or two $50.3. If someone install you the stereo will cost $40...+ bucks and that will not guarantee cables will be OK if you already have a short circuit with rear speakers (old cables & OLD ACTIVE SPEAKERS).

This is a low cost $0 warranty using what you have at home. My stereo IS HARD AS STONE NOT EVEN THE TWO METAL PIECES WILL HOLD YOUR STEREO LIKE THIS BE SURE OF THAT. This is work for 1 or 2 hours...

I decided to post this as a thank you to the guys who post what color is what when you install a new stereo.

If this can help someone i will be happy just let a note in my blog as thank you.

Not really sure why it would take hours to connect the mounting plates. For the most part as long as you're trying to mount a single din stereo, I've had zero problems with getting the stereos to line up with the grooves on the plates. The plates just screw into the dash assembly in the front so I'm not too clear as to where the issue is. The time it takes to mount a stereo in the mounting plates should be all 10-20 minutes max from pulling the trim pieces, pulling that center piece and getting the harness adapted to your particular stereo (the adapter for the antenna as well), and all back together.

The wiring is simple enough also, but in the event of theft, yeah there are some savages that just rip out whatever they can get so you could also have a short further down the harness than you expect.

You had the active stereo, there's a write up on how to get around the amp wiring that's found on the "active stereo" and send out a signal from the deck and will run on aftermarket speakers or even from the speakers that are "active" as well.
