240sx safety start

On my 240 i have a safety start and was wondering if it was a dealership provided safety start or if it was a special install. The way it starts it by turning the key tell power is on and then press a button in, then turn the key all the way to start. The prob is that the button seems to no longer work. I just wanted to know if this feature is on other 240s.

You mean the button near where the key goes into the ignition? That's for taking the key out.
