hey everyone, i just picked up a 95 240sx for 800 bucks to be my winter/daily. mint car , the only thing wrong with it is the ignition is a pain in the a**! it literally starts everytime its just the key has to be in a veeeeery specific spot. any insight on this? The only thing i could think of is change the ignition module...

order a new ignition switch. it takes about 15-20 minutes to install it.
its an expensive part but can lead to quite a few problems down the road. i just replaced mine.
if you are licky the bolt heads will still be attached to the bolt and itll be easy to remove as well. i had to break out a hacksaw to get mine off, no bueno man.

i have never seen them with the heads still attached, have you? you can also use left handed drill bits to remove the bolts holding the ignition on the column.pj wrote: if you are licky the bolt heads will still be attached to the bolt and itll be easy to remove as well.

thanks guys, i think pj the hacksw was uneccesary lol. there is always an easier way. ive changed many of these, itlll be no problemo

well, yes and no, ive done it twice. this time there were none left, last time there was 1. i took that one out and just bent its a** over until it broke the other clasp or whatever. so that was easier.motoman399 wrote:i have never seen them with the heads still attached, have you?.
