Ive decided to get a 240sx s14 and ive got a general idea as to what ima do to it. Im going to do it in phases.
Id like your opinions, as to anything im missing, or something i have but dont really need. Im focused on high speed grip in corners and drifting for fun. Im going to buy a bone stock one and gradually mod all of the following:

***ENGINE****:

- sr20det s13 redtop full swap

- clutch lsd

- cold air intake

- exhaust

- FMIC

- radiator

- pulley set

- BOV

****SUSPENSION*****:

- shock body adjustable coilovers

- camber kit, and replace subframe bushings

- sway bar

- tension rods

- tie rods and toe links

- brake pads, rotors and stainless lines

***GRIP***:

- racing tires

- racing brakes

I was thinking of starting off just doing the coilovers/bushings. Then awhile later, doing the rest under "suspension".
Then after saving up, getting the swap, lsd, intake, exhust. Then wait and save up, then get tires, brakes. Then wait again and finish up with whats left under "engine" If you think theres certain things i should do before/after, lemme know please. This will be gradually worked up to over a few years. Any and all adice/tips/help/comments appreciated. thanks.

Make sure you buy quality coilovers. Those can make or break a setup.
Apexi N1 coils are great bang for the buck.
Also, buying good suspension arms will cost more but be easier on you in the long run. My cheap arms all toasted the rod ends, and doing the adjustment on them is finicky.

Stiffer suspension, good tires, and a nice diff will make a big impact on how your car feels.

I've been running stock arms with no issues. I actually dont understand why people go with the aftermarket arms other than to get more adjustment out of your alignment settings (which the only ones you need is rucus)
Also if money is an issue, pulleys you won't notice that much.
As far as subframe bushings ..... I did the polyurethane and noticed a HUGE difference.

You can't really build a car to drift and auto cross. These are two different ends of the spectrum. To drift you need to break traction in the rear too much grip and it's hard to break loss and control the slide. In road racing you want all the grip you can get. Spring rates to drift-stiff, road race- soft. Auto cross even softer.
Decide which way you want to go before buying struts.
I road race and I run 450's in the front and 225's in the rear. Then I adjust my roll couple with sway bars.
