ive been looking around for headers for my 240sx. so far ive seen parts from obx, dc sports, hotshot, and pacesetter. does anyone have opinions on which one is the best one in terms of bang for buck, performance, and quality? any help would be much appreciated.

OBX is ebay crap, those other brands are quality peices. Any equal length header is going to give you similar results, the big differance is the price. The thing about OBX however is alot of people have had issues with them cracking. If you know how to weld its not a huge issue but still kind of a PITA.

ahh. thanks. thing is, dc sports headers cost about twice as much as the others. is the dc sports header smog-legal in california?

I have an OBX knock-off from eBay. I had the engine overheat two three times and it's still OK. I use silicone-coated heat-wraps on them as well.Unless there's turbo involved I think something cheap like mine will do just fine.

yeah, I've got the OBX as well (igot a SOHC though) and it works great. The main problem is not with them cracking, it's fitment. The EGR tube most likely won't line up just right. I just put on my header and screwed the flange nuts on just a few threads and then put the EGR tube in. Then just tighten the SOB down and I havent had any problems other than that. They don't leak, havent warped, nothing. Just make sure you clean the header before starting the car. Otherwise you'll get fingerprint stains burnt into the finish and they will NOT come off.

Nope. It is pending, as has been in pending limbo with the State for almost 2 years. You can only hope the smog guy is sympathetic and looks the other way.

Nice header though and it's what I run.
