I would like to first say, sorry if this is the wrong place to post. This is my first post :)
So, I have a 90 240sx hatch and I got it with the pop up headlights not working.

After going through this thread I am still a bit unsure of what to do. headlights-won-t-pop-up-t93611.html

I have checked all fuses and relays. They are fine.

On terminal 1 or 2 of the headlight return relay (cant quite remember), I don't get 12v. I have also followed the orange wire to the diode box behind the radio, and I don't get 12v on either end of the orange wire. The guy was able to successfully fix his problem by jumping the orange wire at the diode box, but I am not getting 12v at the diode box. Could anyone point me in the direction of where to go from here? Thank you for any help. It is greatly appreciated.

Also check your headlight stalk for corrosion on the metal strips, and the HL up/down switch for janky wiring added for sleepy eyes.

This may not help you much, but this weekend while I was troubleshooting an alarm problem I found the previous owner had used one of the Headlight Up/Down switch wires to tap into for parking lights. The solder was crappy, and it was causing 3 years of driver side pop-up malfunctions for me.

Here is the relevant part: Once fixed, the lights worked perfectly 10 times in a row. Then I disconnected the ground from the battery to do some other work, and when I reconnected the battery, the lights were malfunctioning again.

Bottom line: The time control unit needs a few minutes to settle down or something after power is interrupted. After waiting 2-5 minutes, the lights were back to normal operation.

Hope this helps.
