Hello everyone

so at school my car just died, and yeah i was stuck for a while, everything seemed fine.
long story short, i just decided to put gas in the car becuase i knew 240 fuel gauges mess up even though mine never has. so i put in gas that my dad brought me, and yeah it started. so after i came from class i went to a gas station and filled up 30 dollars and yeah then my car didnt wana start again. after a few minutes it started and i made it home but i was scared it will die on the way. it didn't.
so yeah ive been researching and it seems like its the fuel pump.

i checked the fuse and its fine.
opened the gas cap and didnt hear the fuel pump motor, i didnt hear anything.
so i started it today, it struggled but it started. i went home for 5 mins and tried again beucase i was sure its the fuel pump. i was planning to buy it and replace it. but now it doesnt wan a start, and for some reason my alarm doesnt wana work. all other electrical things work. headlights, turn signals, radio.

so before i replace the fuel pump, what could it be? any ideas. thanks

Do you have power at the connector to the pump in the trunk? If you do and don't hear prime when the key is turned to the on position its probably shot. But then again, with you alarm system it might be disabling power to it...?

Hey thanks for the info
But I bought a replacement fuel pump and replaced it
And it worked
The alarm is still like that. I have no idea what that could be
But I'm glad my car is running again

Glad to hear. I would check the wires on the alarm system especially if it was dine right and there is a pump power wire on it that could be frayed or loose. Did you install it? Did you use butt connectors? I've seen this happen a few times butt connectors come loose and are just laying on eachother enough to put a little power thru but when the car is bumped the wrong way they lose connectivity

No I didn't splice any wires at all for the fuel pump.
It a regular old alarm a cheap one that came with the car a while ago. And yeah the new fuel pump came with new wires but I didn't have to use them. So idk. I might just play with the wirestje loud speaker from the alarm does come loose and the sound isn't loud at all so I move it and it works. This is the first time the alarm actually got like stuck lol

if i were you and its just a cheap alarm i would remove it and rewire it so you know whats going on in there or replace it with a new cheap one you can buy a semi decent one for about 100 bucks. better then replacing parts that cost more due to shorts or difficult troubleshooting. btw an alarm is pretty useless if it doesnt work everytime. the loud speaker is what detours thiefs in the first place

well if it doesnt work id still remove it whether you replace it now or later. the last thing you want to happen is fry your ecu by shorting something out or ruining your pump you just replaced if it does have a pump power control on it.
