I took out the AC, Heater Core, and all of the vents and crap.
It's certainly time consuming. But it cleans things up in the engine bay and there's so much wiring that can be taken out. I still have stereo, pop ups, and heat but I had a huge bundle of wire after I finished. I encourage you to do it if you are competent enough to do it without messing anything up. It's one of the best things I've done to my car, now all my electronics work the way they should and my engine bay looks like sex.compactfean wrote:Shouldn't be to hard....just time consuming. There's a bunch of stuff In those fuse boxes that can go and a bunch of Wiring ...I mean a bunch, fog light crap, AC wiring crap.if you don't have pop up headlights almost that hole PS relay box could go! I know that to pull the fuse boxes into the cab dash and fenders have to be pulled.
There might be a better way, but that's what I did. I cut maybe 1 or 2 feet between the SMJ and the relay box. My harness is now SMJ on the left in its original spot, relays in the middle under the dash, and fuse box on the right side behind the ECU. It's fairly strait forward. Just do a test fit every now and then so you can correct problems before it's too late.duffy2323 wrote:The only thing I have a question about is the relay box and the fuse box. To relocate them to inside the car instead of the engine bay, do I just cut wires and solder them back up accordingly? or is there a better way.
Are you saying you want to somehow get the battery to the front of the car? If you aren't going to have passengers, that area would be good. There's no way you could fit even the smallest battery under the dash unless you removed everything from under there. And that would be a pita. What if you needed to get a jump? Just remember you need two wires from the battery: one to the starter, and one to that fuse box.duffy2323 wrote:another thing I was thinking of is relocating the Battery-I know people relocate to the trunk a lot, but I don't like the fact of having a huge 10 foot wire going from the trunk to the engine bay, kind of defeats the purpose of what I am doing IMO. I will have a lot of room under my dash, would that be a stupid idea or no?
