Hey. I've been looking for a 240sx for a while now... here's the problem. There's a bunch of them, but all out of my price range. Or if they are, they won't accept a trade.

This is my situation:

My mom bought me a 1998 V6 Mustang. I'm not complaining: a car is a car. But I want to move on. It has 91K on the odometer, and the title's clean. I installed a pretty B.A. alarm with remote start and all that good stuff.I also have 1k+ in car audio in it. Very well done. JBL subs/amp, (soon some US Amp Stuff :D), Hertz Audio, and all that good stuff.

I was just wondering if anyone knew a place somewhere in the Miami area (I really don't mind driving to get a 240) where I can trade this POS in + cash for a 240.

I'd prefer a s14-model. But, I won't mind a s13... and, of course, manual. :x

I will easily trade in my car in it's entirety for a 240sx, and I'll even put in some money.

Any suggestions?

Why don't you just sell the Mustang and use that money to buy a 240? You'll have better luck doing that, than finding someone who wants to trade or with a dealer that will most likely low ball you.

expand your search area... when my gf was looking for a 240 she searched local then state then entire southeast region and found the one she has now. we had to go 100 miles away to get it but that was fine. look on auto trader then you can put your price and distance in there.

Well, no one wants to buy a Red Automatic '98 V6 Mustang.

('99+ they put in split ports which increased the HP by 43. My car, stock, has 150 HP @ the crank, the '99+ has 193 @ the crank)

I've tried to sell it many times. There's just so many Mustangs in the market in Miami it's hard to sell it.

EDIT:: And I wouldn't mind driving 1K miles for a good 240

No vert.

But I bought it from a girl.

Maybe that should have been your first clue? haha. Just keep the car on the market, and look for a deal on a 240. auto trader, craigslist, kijiji, keep an eye out. If you find a good car, buy it straight up, and worry about selling the Mustang after.

My mom paid for it-- I had no say in what I got, basically. It could've been worse... she could've got me a Geo Metro. :x

And it's hard to buy a car when you have no money. The reason I wanna sell the Mustang is to get enough for a 240sx, or at least a start. I love the Mustang-- and in the future I'd like to beef it up with a 252, S/C'd, and all of that good stuff. But, right now. It's just not what I want.

how much would a mustang like that run? how many miles on it when ya bought it? kinda curious as i would think a new hks exhaust might fetch more at this point...........

I bought it last year for 4K with 90K miles. It now has 91K miles [I didn't have my license, so I didn't drive it for like 9 months)

But I'll x2 on the exhaust. The car is basically worthless. I don't really like it-- at all.

But I might've got an offer to trade it for a '92 240sx coupe... I just don't like coupes, though. =\I want a hatchback. But I might take it, put some mods on it, and trade it for an S13 hatch... mod it, then trade it for an S14 coupe.

But I wouldn't mind just sticking with an S13 Hatch or S14 coupe.

Bro, you're being too picky. When I was your age I didn't even own a car. I went everywhere on Metrorail. I got my first job at 18 at a crappy Dominos Pizza in Little Havana, worked my *** off for 4 months then I finally bought my first car. An old rusty 89 240SX for $900. I say be glad you have parents that can str8 up buy you a car no problem. They're probably paying your insurance too.

tyhat is kind of true !! you are lucky !! the best is just calm down... take a deep breath.. and put your mustang on auto trader.. or just work and save money for a S13 or S14 .. i bought mine for 2,000 usd (but i had to drive to jacksonville to get it ) .. also why change a 99 mustang with 90k miles for a S13 with a million miles that is worth less than 1,000 dollars?

just put your car in autotrader...but if i was you i wouldnt sell it.. ill just find a job and buy a second one ..coz the S13 is not going to last unless you keep dumping money to fix parts!
