240sx turned over like normal, shaked like it normally does when its about to fire up, then stopped shaking and only turned over. It wouldnt fire up. I tried a couple times before decided its not going anywhere and I'll just sleep over and have my dad come the next day. The next day comes and my dad comes to give me a ride to school, luckly I had a late class. Anyway, before we leave he trys to start it up and it just turns over (we know the engine is turning over because the belts turn along with the starter, everything is turning except its missing that big shaking that always happens right before it fires up) Anyways we have to go and leave it there for the day. In the evening me and my dad come with tools. We remove the fuel line and theres fuel in it, we pull of a cable from the distributor and it sparks. I'm getting fuel, spark, and the engine is turning over, but its not firing!!! There is nothing left for us to do so we leave the car and on the third day have it towed to my uncles garage. Once the car is in the garage the mechanic turns the key and it fires up. I'm out $100 to pay the tow guy, and have the mechanic tell me "nothings wrong"

I don't know if this is somehow related, but there is something wrong with my clutch/pedal. Sometimes in the morning I'll wake up and the pedal will be all the way down to the floor and I have to pull it up. I know there is some kind of safety mechanism that keeps the car from starting when the clutch pedal isnt down to the floor but I don't think thats the reason my car didnt start because it was turning over. The safety mechanism keep the car from turning over. I'm truly stumped.

Well I don’t know if this will help you any, but when my KA cant breath it does what you have just described. I tried to use Sea Foam’s Deep Creep and when I separate the MAF from the throttle body (well they aren’t directly connected of course) but it dies shortly after. Maybe your MAF is going bad? Which sounds odd but it just seemed like it did what mine did, well minus you messing with the intake

Without being there when it was happening, it is hard to say what the problem might be. Being a KA owner for 13 years and a 240 owner for 10 years, I definately know the "shake" you are talking about. I just can't see how the engine would be able to spin the accessories without causing the shake. The pistons are causing that movement and for the accessories to spin, the pistons would be moving. My guess would be a loose master coil wire that the mechanic pushed on. Try taking it off the ignition coil and start the car to see if you get the same effect. Other than that, I don't know.
