im going to be registering and insuraning my car. this is my first car under my name and everything, so im just wondering how much you guys are paying for all the registration and tags and what not. thanks in advance!

Tag and titling is different depending on the state. You could have solved your quandary on that predicament had you used google.

For insurance, that will depend widely on your age, driving record, and the insurance rates for your given garaging area. My fiance was paying $130-150 a month to insure just her '08 caliber near Virginia Beach. She racked up a traffic ticket and we added my 240 and her new '97 240 when we moved to Illinois. Our total for insurance is $120 for all three. So you see that the price of insurance fluctuates widely. Just get a quote from a respectable agent and make your decision based on that.

yea you really need to call locally for this answer. contact the dmv to see how much plates and registration will cost, they will need the weight of the vehicle so have your vin ready. in ny registration, title, and new plates are around 100 dollars, insurance can be between 75-160, depending on your age, driving history and insurance company. if you are 16-21, expect to pay up to 160 a month. so yea, have about 300 cash ready to get rollin, you need gas too.

well i pay 120 a month just for the bare minimal.

my insurance is going to be about $101 a month, but $171 for the first month. i was merely asking the basic rate is for new plate and tags and s***. i'll probably give them a call tomorrow on my lunch during school. Thanks.

how much did you pay for the car? that will also come into play.

my plates got stolen off my car and i paid 7.25 for new plates and registration.

Hijacker linked you to Michigan's fees. Looks like $15 to get it titled, $8 to get it registered, and your plates and tags are included in that fee.

Very similar to AZ rates. It was only about that much to have my 240 titled and registered.

$56 insurance/month with 5 tickets, paid $3250 for the car, $36/year for registration in PA.
