240sx "REALLY STRANGE COOLANT PROBLEM"

Maybe you need a new RADIATOR!!!! and rad to motor hoses and rad to resorvoir hose

ill just get a Rad... and change all the hoses and see how this goes

This is what concerns me.

The radiator and resevoir are supposed to work in unison. If the radiator gets too hot, it spill some coolant into the resevoir, if it "burns" off some coolant or it's colder, it pulls from the resevoir.

If the radiator just dumps coolant into the....I just thought of something.

Does the resevoir overflow excess coolant? Maybe there is a flow restriction in your radiator that is causing pressure and pushing coolant into the resevoir. The resevoir gets to it's max capacity, then starts dumping coolant.

That stuff doesn't just magically dissappear. It's either being burned (HG), leaking, evaporating (really not likely), or escaping somewhere else (resevoir).

no the resevoire or the radiator does not have a pressure relief valve, the only valve it has it cap from atmospheric pressure which keeps it in.

did you check your heater hose mine was doing the same thing and i was like wtf? then i did a radiator flush it finally the hole was big enough to find because there was alot rust so i think that was keeping the hole small but idk

try your heater core... check to make sure your passenger floor board isnt wet. or blocked maybe try bypassing it temporaly and see if it still does it....

sorry but whats the passnger floorboard? and i dont see it leaking anywhere... at all... no drops of coolant anywhere... regradless im getting a new radiator to have it run cooler .. but also it might fix that.

The floor...where the passengers feet go...Check all of the hoses, pressurize the system and check for leaks, coming out of the overflow tank? Probably a thermostat, do you have genuine Nissan thermostat in it? I used to think there wasn't a difference when my car at coolant issues than I got a dealer thermostat instead of the cheap shucks one. Huge difference in it now.

Also radiator cap...do you have the right one?
