240sx rb20 stock ecu with z32 MAF

Ok so I got this car and it dident run. I figured out the ecu was fried, I got a new one and the car runs but it idles high and cuts out around 4k. I looked in the other ecu and their was a chip should I get that chip put into my new ecu to fix the problem? Any help would be wonderful!
