240sx rb20 no spark.

Okay so I just got this car and it doesn't run, its rb20 swap 240, the wirering is a mess in it and they also switched out the coil packs for a distributor? I tried the CAS trick but injectors do not turn on or anything when I spin it! Also I checked for power to the PTU and I can't seem to get a reading? I'm stumped any one have a problem like this please help lol!

Could it be an ecu or the ecu coil harness?

the RB20 has two relays near the ecu. Without those you won't get power for the injectors or the coils. You might want to just order a new harness put the CAS back onto the car.

I will try look to see if they are working, and here is more of the story behind the car not running! He said he was comming on to a highway hit a bump and the car shut off? Do you think it could of screwed one of the relays up?

crappy wiring hit a bump something shorted to the frame of the car. Hopefully your ecu still has the LED light on it so you can see the codes it flashes.

That's what I was thinking but I don't know where to start looking for the problem, I don't have a light on my ecu or anything.

the LED light should be in the ecu near the a circular hole. If your missing the LED then you would need a nissan consult or nissan data scan program to read the ecu. Duno how deep into the rabbit hole your planning on getting with Nissan's tho.

So if I find this light what do the different colors mean?

no colors just flashes. if you google rb20det ecu codes you should get numbers. 21= 2 long flashes then a pause then 1 quick flash. 33 = 3 long flashes then 3 quick flashes. There is a screw on the ecu you turn then put the car to on.

So I found the led, it just lights up and stays red the whole time I'm not shure what that means lol!

Yeah I did it both ways and one way it stayed lit up the whole time and the other time was nothing lol.

I think your suppose to key off then turn it one way then key on to get the flashes.

So its the cas? Would that stop the motor from getting spark?

yup, you probably need a new one. double check the plug for the cas. maybe bad connection.

So I got the car started it runs good! But it idles at 3k and when you take it to like 4k it acts like its tacking out? What's the good word for that?
