My friend has a 1990 or a 1991 Nissan 240 SX SE, and he is having to pull the engine. He wants to do some internal stuff. He was wanting me to just get some pointers on this. It has the 2.4L SOHC engine. But he also thinking about fixng the engine and leaving it stock, and getting another car...such as a newer 240SX with the DOHC engine or a Nissan 300ZX. He is just wanting some ideas. Thanks guys. BTW....excellent forum ya got here. Thanks......Zach

=)

well it all depends on how much money he wants to spend and what he plans to do with the car... (daily driver, racing, etc?)

And if his car has a SOHC engine, it's a '90. '91s had DOHC

He can just swap in a ka24de instead of rebuilding his ka24e if he just wants to spend about $400-600.

yeah, a new car, let alone a 300zx (unless it is an 80's beater) is way out of his price range. Try to drop in a ka24de, it'll be a little quicker...

The ka24de(dohc) is the stock engine from the 91+ 240sx.

Awesome....will everything bolt up? I havent talked to him about it but I know he would love the idea. =) How much would the engine cost? Will he need a new ECU and stuff? I think if he really wanted to he would save bout 800 or so if everything bolted up. =) Thanks.....Zach
