I'm getting myself a 90 240sx fastback and when I was looking @ the engine with the engine on it would shake a little more then slightly from the left to the right. I asked one of the guys @ the shop and he said cause 240's have 2 motor mounts when other cars have 4. That the shaking is normal.

Is this true?

Mine shook on like a beast on startup when I got it, and somewhat on idle too. All I know is after about 3.5 weeks of owning it, it didn't seem to as much. I dont know if its because I just got used to it or if I corrected it somehow. It seemed to taper off shortly after I reconnected some vaccuum lines that the previous owner had plugged.

2 on the engine. There's a 3rd that supports the transmission, it kinda hold the engine steady too, I guess.

iono bout the mounts n stuff, but one time my teacher checked up on this corolla and it shooked alot. becuz one of the cylinder wasnt working. one of it wasnt injecting fuel in it. if u plug out the fuel injector plug, and if u dont feel a difference, then that means that cylinder aint workin meaning it aint gettin fuel but is still gettin air tho. if u unplug the fuel injector plug, that means it stops the fuel from goin in, which means u should be able to feel a difference when u plug it out. so if u unplug it and it feels the same, the cylinder aint working. but ima newbie, u probably knew this already. or this probably aint the right answer.
