see now thats a start... all ^this info should have been in the first post... so you want the parts cheap???

are you expecting aftermarket or oem/ oe replacement?? what do you want for the car? i assume you just want to get it running, so try local junkyards and the forrum f/s sections. other wise go to oriely's or pep boys.... they are not very expensive parts

People here will respond to you better if you punctuate and spell entire words...you're not texting. 240's are pretty reliable if maintained. Keep in mind though, the car is almost 20 years old, things are bound to wear out or break. I also saw you're 14, that's awesome you're trying to learn about cars that young, keep it up man, there's lots of great info. on this site.

as he said^^

they are reliable cars, only if properly maintained. you should always put neccessary maintaince at the top of your "To Do" list for you 240.... most importantly before you start your aftermarket mods..

Also, if your thinking about buying one with all those problems, reconsider lol. I'm 16, started looking when i was 14. Got one and turned out to have a s***load of problems, and my parents would barely let me touch it. Save your money for one in better shape. And he's right ^^ fix FIRST. Its no good having your car look good if you cant afford to have it run. end of my advice haha

+1

Buy a running 240 if you can find one, start fixing it slowly. You'll spoil the experience if you start with a pos that you can never get running...like my coupe...and hatch lol.

The best thing you can do is the basics
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and check timing
Clean iac, and throttle body
Replace fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve
Clean groung connection and harness plugs
Repllace gaskets as needed.
Belts replaced or adjusted
Fluids (GL-4 gear oil for transmission), motor oil, coolant (bled properly), differential

Then have the suspension, brakes and steering looked over and repalced as needed. Let the mods come later.

hey, I started working on 240s when I was 14 too! Got my own when I Was 15.

500 is a good price, depending on the amount of work it needs. Does it run? Rust?

If you dont know what the part is then I would advise not getting it knowing your gonna have to replace it. Just my opinion, maybe your more naturally mechanically inclined than i am haha
