I just need some general suggestions or if other people are having this same problem thanks!
my first suggestion is to STOP running the engine when your oil light comes on. One thing you don't want to do is ruin what ever is still good in there. You can either use it when you repair or sell it for a little cash, but if its screwed up its gonna be no good.
second. screw the timing chain... if its a timing chain issue it is a common thing and 99 times out of 100 you have nothing to worry about. but the bottom end... and your oil light needs to be trouble shot first. that is the life of the motor. I would start looking for a Factory Service Manual if you don't have one already. start with your sensors and go from there, but i would be really careful about driving on that motor unless you are absolutely positive that the oil pump is working and you have proper pressure.
