240sx problems going into gear

Well, I posted to the Nissan online mechanic a few days ago, but Im really in need of some help on this one. And havent got a reply yet.

I have a 96 240sx with 115,000 miles on it. Just bought it from a dealer.

It was driven to my house okay and everything seemed to run great. Now, the car will go into gear when the engine is off, but when running, the car will not go into gear.

As a bit of side info, the shift boot was torn when I bought it... Thanks if anyone can help.

Most common cause of this is a hydraulic failure in either the slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. The second most common cause is the actual clutch springs breaking into pieces and jamming the clutch.

The hydraulics are cheap and extremely easy to replace.
