240sx !!PROBLEM!!

hi was wondering if u guys could help me out with my car which is a s13 1990 240sx my friend decided to install a z32 mafs to it.me not knowing it doesnt work on single cams without tunning the car first.but yeah he installed it,didnt work he said he had to cut the wires on my maf to put on the z32 mafs so he finally realized it wouldnt work so he put everything back my old maf and stuff but when he put it back the battery was still on so he reconnected the wires and everything he started the car and it quickly dies out what could it be ??? do i need a new maf or a new fuse ?? help really need car to work right now and yes i know im an idiot for letting him mess with my car everyone learns from their mistakes anyways

Sucks man. ECUs go bad from doing that.

I dont know what could be the problem. Its not like a cam/crank angle sensor that wouldnt allow a vehicle to run.

not a good idea... u can fry ur harness and ecu doing that without tuning ur ecu to run on a n62 maf... tune ur ecu first before u run it with a z32 maf...and its not worth it to use a z32 maf on low powered motors... in my own opinion...

not a good idea... u can fry ur harness and ecu doing that without tuning ur ecu to run on a n62 maf... tune ur ecu first before u run it with a z32 maf...and its not worth it to use a z32 maf on low powered motors... in my own opinion...

But i do agree that you def need a tune when doing something like this. If anything is cars going to be even slower than before.

i think its not a good idea to get a new ecu without changing the harness. u can go to a ecu shop or tv shop and let them check ur ecu first before buying another one. sometimes ur harness is bad or fried thats why ecus not working. or u can open ur ecu and check if diodes are fried or somethings fried inside.GL!

my friends ecu and harness went bad after he installed a z32 maf without tuning his ecu. but most harness goes first before ecu.learned that from my friends past experience....
