240sx Problem

Ok im planning to buy a 89 240sx coupe from a friend this guy is chinese. Ok, well the car was running, know this seen him drive it to pick my bro up. I heard that the car had some electrical problem. So, he took it to futureshop to get it checked out and they stated it was the starter, he purchased a brand new starter and putted it in, but all he gets now is just a car struggling to turnover. Example when ur battery is like almost dead and your trying to start it all u get is a stuggleing car. Can someone please help me! He is selling it for 500$ with megan cat back, and strut bar, and the engine is a ka24e.

Try jump starting it and cleaning and tightening battery terminals. if your starter is not turning over engine, that is not a big deal. you could also hook starter directly to postive of battery, if you know what you are doing.

look up starter in tutorial link in my signature. If he is Chinese, i assume you mean he'd prolly fix it already. hard to say.

Well we did that were jump starting it all we get is a slugish turnover. The engine is 300000km so i think it may need a new engine.

hook starter up directly to a good battery with car in neutral of course. the starter gets 12v positive from the ignition. instead of getting it from ignition hook it up directly to postive of battery for a few seconds. 300k is nothing for this engine. the starter also has a continuous 12 v positve source and a ground.
