Hi, its been sometimes since i posted here, I have been having problems with my 240sx sohc motor, and need help badly because its my daily driver, so help.

This is whats going on everytime when i start my car, it will start up, but when it starts up the car feels like its going to die, making choking noises and if it dies during the choking then i wont be able to start the car so i have to put pressure on the gas to rev it to make sure it wont die? wierd? I checked fuel got fuel, check sparks got sparks the compression on my cylinders are 125.125.145.145, new spark plug, oil change, just what is going on please im pretty sure some one here knows what this problem is or been through it before.

and my rpm stays at 1000 or a little bit higher, different then normal the check engine lights comes on but goes away after car warms up,

anyone please help.......thanks

Just a question....

Have you checked the air intake piping? Worked on a couple cars that I had to hold the throttle to keep alive otherwise they died out too. If your not getting the required air volume the car will die out.

Just check piping all the way from the duct to the intake manifold. make sure everything is tight and secure. If there are any loose sections it may not be getting sufficient air supply.

I can't guarantee that this is it. But it something very simple you can check.

good luck.

your compression numbers are extremely low and have a pretty big variance between them. Id check the intake like Jracer mentioned and all vaccuum leaks, if not then Id say your motor definitely needs some refreshing.

20 psi discrepency between cylinders is out of spec. Won't cause what you're having though.

Last year, my FPR went bad and I had most of your symptoms. Except mine happened infrequently.

My idle line pressure was close to 55 psi, and it was forcing extra fuel into the cylinders that the motor couldn't handle after it got warm. After the motor would die, it was flooding the cylilnders, which wouldn't let the motor turn over.

Your problem could be similar to what I had. It's worth a shot to look at

I check all vaccum and tighten intake, seems to help out a bit, car would start better now, but my rpm is sitting at 1,000, or right below, but it used to be like around 600. 700 rpm. could it be that, its just not used to the cold...lol

Remove your IACV and give it a thourough cleaning. Its located behind the intake on the passenger side. Search around NICO, there has been write-ups showing the process.
