My dream has always been to get a Skyline and be able to drive it on US roads. Gave that up when found out it was 26K to get it DOT and EPA tested and ok to drive, f**k. So i decided to do a 240sx powered by a rb26. Now I have done my reaserch and I want to know what everyone else thinks the easyest and cheapest way to go is. I have seen a rb26 engine and rb25 trany, and think thats the way to go. Info please. Everyone

Yeah, thats pretty much the way to go. As for money though *sigh*, there really is no "cheap" way to do this.

From what I have heard...expect to pay about $7k - $10k just to do the swap alone or something like that.

im just getting into the actual " spending " part of my rb25 swap and belive me, when people say 5k in parts, they arent far off. ive done my research over and over and with everything needed just to basically start it up, have it sit right, move on its own power and run on stock boost , 5k....not really factoring aftermarket boost controller, apexi fc, upgraded turbo, injectors, etc.... add on at least another 1500 for the rb26 motor. its expensive, dont play if you cant pay.

I'm sorry dude but done right, running smooth and reliable after tuning your looking at 10g's 7 if you do alot of you own work. If you look at that figure and go damn like I did then its not for you. I have seen only one done right and when I asked how much. I was told $8,000. And the dude told me it wasn't perfectly reliable yet. Stuff can go wrong too and you gotta budget for that.

But don't give up there are other less prestigious swaps out there that will probably make more power than you would like to believe.

You know what though I say go for it if the figures don't scare you.

lol the tuner shop near me has a skyline their doing and they drive it all over the place around here. Heres the pic's also heres another one of their cars O and also I want to know why people put oversized water pump pulleys on their cars?? I would think putting a smaller pulley then the stock one on the car would be better.

ok, what does any of that have to do with this thread?

op, if you're making a thread asking how to cheaply perform an rb26 swap in a 240, then you don't have to means to complete it.
