I don't know why, but I am in a decent mood this morning so I'll hold your hand ;)

There is a gravity feed line from the reservoir to the bottom side of the pump. It has barbed fittings and you can use clamps on the lines. Coming out the driver's side of the pump is the high pressure line after the pump boosts pressure up very high. That line connects to the top fitting on the steering rack. The bottom fitting is the outlet from the rack. This line is somewhat pressurized, but not nearly the level of the high pressure line. It runs through the aluminum cooling tubing along the bottom of the crossmember and then from the cooling loop back up to the bottom of the reservoir. And around it goes again.

Does that make sense?

If your car is not HICAS and you have a HICAS pump, you need to block off the rearmost outlet on the pump.
Search HICAS pump block and read...

thanks a lot for your help !! and i have one more question, if the car/chassis is hicas and i bought a non hicas pump and line and ps tank and i am trying to convert it to a non hicas, is there a line that i have to block off ?? or is there any modifications that needed to be done ?? because where you say the oil gets back to the reservoir/ connects to the bottom of the reservoir there is 2 lines instead of one like on the reservoir ?? thanks

If your car is HICAS and you have a non-HICAS pump, you will need to do a few things for sure...
If your reservoir is non-HICAS it will only have two fittings on it, one for pump feed and one for rack return.
If your pump is non-HICAS it will only have two fittings as well, one for reservoir feed and one for high pressure to the rack.
If you disable the rear steering, you'll need a HICAS lock-out bar.

my reservoir is non-HICAS and it has two fittings on it and my pump is non-HICAS as well. i don't have a lock out bar. but my question is how to convent the lines (if i need to) and is a hicas pump like 2 pumps in one ?? but instead on the pressure line going to the rack it goes back to the sub frame and then back to the reservoir ?? and don't forget that its an rb25 in a 240sx so are the lines be different ?? thanks

bolt an rb20 ps pump and bracket to the rb25...you'll be fine.
rb20 pump is a hicas pump and can power the stock hicas system...however if your wiring is not correct the hicas system will go into failsafe mode and lock the rear bar.

then easiest way to get rid of it is to remove the whole system from the car and either fit a hicas lock bar or remove the subframe and install a non hicas subframe.

Not trying to be a smartass Darius, but I don't want to have the kid connect the lines reversed and mess up anything. I was just working on hooking up my power steering lines yesterday since the addition of a front mount cooler. Anyway, the high pressure line connects to the bottom fitting on the rack next to the steering collar. The return/low pressure line connects to the top fitting as shown:

This image is from a S14 FSM. I am guessing the same works for a S13.
