I recently totaled my 1996 240sx someone ran me off the interstate and ran me into a concrete sidewall. amazingly no other cars were involved I immediatly started lookin for another 240 but i realized that since i am in school i need something that i know will be reliable and last me at least through college and of course it has to be fun to drive. I realized that its really hard to find a 240 close by for a good price that hasnt been heavily modded and ragged out. My dad mentioned a subaru impreza wrx, which was one of my dream cars from my childhood. Ive been looking at a 2003 hatch subaru impreza wrx for about 8000. I was wondering if anybody has either had one or knows anything about them.

I am torn betwen the two cars!!!! please give opinions of the two carss and help me decide!!!

i would say stay with the 240 cause u can beat them up and they will last forever and its probably cheaper to maintain

I am partial to the older style with the round headlights. They are not that expensive, and there is more than enough aftermarket to satisfy what little I would do to the car.

if you go the route of driving an awd car..you will find the dynamics are drasticly different...there an amazing machine when driven corectly and i do highly recomend the hatchback STI's..there alot of fun...but be warned..dont get risky till you take her to a skid pad to get used to the change in driving styl that they demand...taking a corner at any type of speed would be a disaster in the hands of a unfamilliar driver..

with that said man..i wish you luck..what ever you decide..and if you need advice for your sti..im shure some nicco heads will be more than happy to help ya out here in the forums.

x2 I found out while me and a buddy were test driving a brand new 2007 WRX turbo TR edition (non-STI). We took it down our favorite twisty road, and it got a little squirrly while accelerating out of a corner. The road itself was lined with trees and upward steep embankments, so I was glad he didn't lose it considering it wasn't even our car. We took the same road in a brand new (at the time) Honda Civic Si at 82mph, it's mostly a 35mph road. The Civic handled wonderfully for a FWD car, the best of it's kind as far as what I've driven (FWD Lotus Elan might be better, but IDK).
