i found a nice s13 shell for $400 and was wondering how much money it would take to put an engine in it. nothing fancy. just something that will make the car driveable. i've been a domestic/v8 guy all my life so i dont know much about these cars. i have done a lot with domestics and v8's though so im sure i can figure it out. i've built engines, swapped engines, bodywork etc. all advice is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Plenty of KA's out there just waiting for a new home. Just search. Most KA's go for about 300-500.

check the stickies at the top of the 240 forum there is a lot of great information to get you started on 240sx and all their glory. you will find out that there is endless options for these cars.

as for the engine stocks ka's there is a DOHC and SOHC version FYI. but 300-500 sounds about right engine and trans.

If you know what you're doing then you can have that moving for around $600.
