First let me set something straight. I have not done a paint job on the car, yet. When i do, everything will be revealed at the end.
The e-brake is only important when:1. You are leaving your car, and you have a manual transmission. 2. An emergency situations pops up and pressing the brake pedal is not going to slow you do fast enough.
If I may be so bold to say, if you do not have the components to include the e-brake hold off on swapping the rear brakes and swap the front brakes. When you get the components for the e-brake swap do the rear brakes at the same time.
When a brake master cylinder goes out on you and the brake pedal hits the floor while you are still rolling forward, you will be glad you have a working e-brake. I have had a brake master cylinder go out on me and I would have hit a brick and mortar pillar, head on, had I not got on the e-brake when I did.
Out on the street having adequate stopping power is more important than being able simply making an engine put out more power to the ground.
