240sx noise

i dont really hear anything other than some hellacious clickety clack. no "hiss" ...could possibly be the fan or the powersteering pump turning...dunno, its hard to tell anything out of the ordinary imo due to all that tick.

Hmmm though its sort of hard to pick out, it might be your plastic timing chain guides. Over time, they can get to be worn out, causing that clicking noise. It's not dangerous or anything but its noisy. You can just remove them; you don't need to have those guides anyway. My friend had the same problem in his s13.
