I have a problem only one headlight works it is the driver side one that is not working. We ran through the wires and tested everything and cant figure out why one is only working and not the other one. If anyone could help would be greatly appreciated. thanks matt

Have you checked the switch? Relay? I see you checked the wiring, did you check just the "hot" wire, but did you check the ground?

I dont think anyone has ever fixed the headlights. They are complicated.Ground is the purple wire and it comes from relay#1 which is in the relay box by the air filter. green yellow comes from headlight switch terminal 10.red-black is from terminal 9 on headlight switch. the red-black also comes from headlight timer.

if both low and high beam dont work, that might mean that it is your ground that is at fault. test with multimeter to see what is happening.

the wiring for left and right headlights is completely different. that is why one can work and not the other.

You need a background in electrical and wiring diagram to do this right.

thanks i will have to try this and let you guys know, also there is this thing called the resistor condensor in the engine wiring harness next to where the coil is, and mine melted, and was wondering if that had something to do with the headlights or that was just a random thing thanks matt

I dont think the resistor/condensor melting has anything to do with headlights. I can post a wiring diagram if you have a multimeter.

This diagram is illustrating where ground comes from and is delivered to purple wire at left headlight. the left headlight and relay#1 are circled in yellow. The headlight timer is sending postive to relay#1 which energizes relay and causes relay to send ground to left headlight.(purple wire)

You should use multimeter to test the purple, green-yellow, and red-black wires at the left headlight to see ifyou are getting ground at purple or 12v+ at the other two wires. (high and low beam)

This diagram illustrates where the two postives come from(low and high beam). the green-yellow postive seem to come directly from 15 amp fuse at terminal 8 on headlight switch. the red-black positive is coming from headlight timer.

by deduction , you should be able to figure out if it is the timer, switch, relay, or wiring.

blue=groundred=12v+

always check if the circuit has power at every point, check the relays, and then straight jump the motor to see if it even works.
