240sx motormounts

I bought my 16 year old son a 240sx today. Car looks fantastic all stock with a mint interior.

I want him to drive the car a few months before we swap the engine for a Turbo with a man. trans...

My problem is the trany and motor mounts are shot and must be replaced prior to driving the car.

Nobody seems to have the parts and the special order is over $400 for three mounts... anybody have any ideas on locating good used parts like this?

Also the car failed to pass smog at idle...did great at highend but CO is way high at idle... I am thinking tune up and O2 sensor... any body have any thoughts? I think these cars look great... The kid wanted a Honda... but one look at the 240SX and he fell in love...

Good job keeping him away from the Honda. As far as mounts, I don't doubt that you will be paying $400 for the three mounts from a dealership. I recommend you go with a set of Nismo motor mounts. They are in the $250-$300 neighborhood without a hookup, and comes with both motor mounts and a transmission mount.
