thats just a whole lot of wasted money. there is plenty of other ways to make that sort of power for a fraction of the cost

$6,025 for the engine, but that is for a brand new one. I understand you can get used ones from junkyards for a fraction of the cost.

this would be an interesting swap although you would need a lot of structuring done. almost more worth it to just build a tubular frame and put 240 body on it.

I looked at doing it, even had an engine at one point. I paid $3700 for my 2002 LS1 motor w/T56 transmission. You've just got to get the correct oil pan (GTO LS1 or Trailblazer V8), custom engine mounts and/or subframe made, a custom transmission crossmember, a few bits and peices like the clutch and power steering lines have to be fiddled with, and someone who knows a lot about wiring up these kind of swaps. The motor pretty much drops right in with no banging of the firewall or any real trickery. It's really not that big of a deal, but unless you're planning on making big power like 600-700HP, stick with a Nissan motor. It's pretty easy to get a very usable 400HP out of an SR20DET or 450HP out of an RB25DET for the low-low and no hassle.
