Injectors on our cars are weird (our cars being the 89-90 240SX). Either I'm not doing it right, or they just suck. I've had two leaky injectors (2nd and 3rd cylinder), and replaced the o-rings on them twice, as well as every grommet. That didn't help, and they kept leaking. They seem to leak right from under the upper grommet, as if the o-ring is letting fuel go past it. Then someone gave me their used injectors off of their old s13, saying that when they had the car, the injectors didn't leak. I replaced them, and now only the # 3 cylinder injector leaks. I'll get another o-ring for it and see what happens, but I have a feeling that the # 3 is cursed. The smell at WOT around 3-4k is overpowering, I have a feeling I may go retarded from it soon. A lot of people have complained of having replaced the o-rings, and still not having fixed the problem of external leakage. I don't know why this is happening, if anyone has a clue, please help me out with some advice.

did you scar the rail when changing the injectors by chance? when i have a leaking injector i replace all the injectors and seals. not just the seals.

i doubt i scarred it, i was very careful when putting them in and taking them out. what i dont understand is that unless i scarred the rail and/or i managed to somehow mess up the rings during installation, how else can they leak? they leaks are right from over the upper grommets, which means it can't be the injector body, only the rings...right?

<shrugs> if you did use engine oil to lube the o-rings during the install, then maybe your guess that the rail is scarred on the #3 FI may be right...
