240sx L28 swap ???????? Thoughts???

I am trying to collect all the pieces to put a 79 280zx mtr in the lightest year 240sx . I have never heard of this being done but someone must have I'm looking for some tips to save myself some trial and error....... Anyone?

I may be wrong on this but doesn't an RB bolt right up to the transmission in the 280 and possibly even mounts. So there's kits for RBs to go in 240's so maybe slightly modified RB kit will help out.

wiki nissan engines , thay have a nice list and some basic info on them, enough to get familiar with them.

That swap would be different but there is easier swaps with far more support on the forums to get threw it easy...that wiring/mounting will be long lonely and expensive with less power than common swaps

I'm not realy into 240s I have the L28 with work done to it already I need a home for it maybe a 240 is not a good match for it . I thought that a makeing a new style 240Zx would be kina unique. I realize that a det motor or some turbo creation could be faster but my L28 is no slouch and it has centamental value i loved my 79 280zx.

Well I can't argue with that...Research the RB into 280zx swap to see how alike the blocks are for mounting.Then if there similar mod a kit for RB into 240.Get a full system wiring diagram for both 280zx and 240sx and figure out what wiring it will take to run the 280 ecu into the 240 harness/dashhttp://www.lsauto.com/products.asp (they offer a tach to run 6cyl)about all I can help

My friend was considering doing something like this also. I would say go for it. I thought these motors had carbs on them and mechanical fuel pumps. Not sure about the turbo motors but i cant see that there would be much to wire.

are you trying to put the 280 motor in a 240?? what happend to the 280 shell??

I am not even gonna do this project anymore 240's suck I'm buyen a civic and puten a b16 in it . moast 240's will only see the taillights though sorry guys
