Once again, I am in need of advice. I have a 1990 S13 with auto transmission. Last week, something happened to the auto transmission while I was driving. The transmission wasnt slipping prior to malfunction and seemed fine.
This guy had the same exact problem back in 2007 with no replies.. (paraphrased below)

"I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx (auto). While driving on the road, I heard some noise and all of the sudden my transmission (auto) stopped working and the car does not drive anymore.
I can move the auto transmission stick from one gear to another (i.e. drive/neutral/park/reverse) back and forth. However, when I put foot on the gas pedal, the car behaves as if it is in "Neutral" gear all the time (although physically the transmission lever/stick is in "Drive"). As such, the car does not move forward or backward. The engine runs.
I checked the "transmission fluid". It looks fine."
This is exactly the same issue I'm having, almost verbatim, except the next to last sentence, for which my car rolls forward or backwards unless its in park. The fluid levels are good and doesn't smell burnt. While the engine is running, if i try to switch gears, the rpms change, but no movement, no gears engage.
I've done a bit of research and some things point to the speed sensor or AT fluid pump while others just say "swap it!".
Is there anything I can do to get this auto running so I can get it to my shop without having to tow it? Or is this thing toast?
I have everything I need for the 5 speed swap, minus a clutch kit and some bolts, but I'd rather drive it to my parents shop instead of having it towed (60 miles away!) Any advice is much appreciated!
