Alright guys i have a 1986 D21 4x4 which i flippin love! It has the 2.4 KA24E TBI. Ever since i got the 31 inch tires, painted it today, and installed new shocks i have fallen in love with it!

I am a 240 guy, and have 3 currently. Although i am parting one out due to rust, and I will have the motor. (even though i already have a spare 240 motor!)

IIRC the 240 motor has more power then the truck engine, and can rev to higher rpms (woot) And i wanted to swap this over to the truck.

Now i would keep the trucks transmission/driveshaft because of the 4wd, and iirc the 240 motor should bolt right up because of the block and the whole KA24E thing.

Now would the 4wd still work if i kept the transmission? The transmission should bolt up to the other block correct?

Also, for the speedo I shouldn't have any problems because it is cable driven right?

What would be involved in wiring? I am new to swaps, but I have some honda buddies who do them very often. I have a full shop, so tools/room is not a problem!

Keep in mind I will have all of the harnesses I need!

Another reason i want to do this is because I have a gt28 turbo kit just layin around I wouldn't mind if the truck had some more balls. 65 on the interstate sucks!

Search some of the other threads on this topic in this forum. It's been covered quite extensively. The KA blocks between the S13 cars and the D21 trucks are not the same. There's quite a few physical differences, and I think if I recall correctly, the transmission bolt pattern is one of them, which will make it tough because you have a 4x4, and 4x4's have to use a 4x4 transmission because it's married to the transfer case.

Check out KA-T.org they are swapping the KA-E to the KA-DE all the time. There are a couple good write ups and you can skip the adding a turbo part so it makes it seem so much easier...LOL
